Hägen Wolf achieves another 2025 milestone with the appointment of partner Sharon Mathieson, and the launch of Hägen Wolf Newcastle.

Formerly the head of property litigation at a large regional firm, Sharon Mathieson boasts a formidable twenty years of legal experience, operating purely in the property disputes space. Sharon is set to play a significant role in the leadership and continued growth of Hägen Wolf, as the firm directs its attention towards the Northeast of England.

Sharon will take up residence at the firm’s new address in Newcastle’s cutting-edge, city centre office block, Bank House.

On Sharon Mathieson’s appointment, managing partner Matt Pugh said, “We are really proud of our Leeds roots, and grateful for the growth platform it has provided.

As an alumnus of its university, I know Newcastle is an important business hub in the Northeast of England, outside of Yorkshire. The city has a reputation for both historic and contemporary property, providing significant commercial opportunity to anyone operating in the real estate market.

I am really excited by Sharon’s appointment, and our new office location at Bank House. The leadership that Sharon will provide for our firm in the region demonstrates our commitment to investing in, and growing with, this brilliant, vibrant city.”

Sharon Mathieson said of her appointment, “I’m over the moon to join Hägen Wolf, a rapidly growing boutique firm, with a strong and rapidly growing reputation for property litigation. We’ve already been warmly received by the Northeast business community. I’m looking forward to getting stuck in, and providing my professional expertise across Yorkshire and the Northeast.”
